Who we are

This policy explains how THE NEW WAVE (“we”, “us”) uses personal information when you visit thenewwave.watch, join our waitlist, buy from us or contact us. THE NEW WAVE is responsible for your information. You can reach us about anything in this policy at:

What we collect and why

Client list
If you join our client list, we keep your email address to send you news of new pieces, releases and community offers, until you unsubscribe (every email has an unsubscribe link) or ask us to delete it. Our reason: your consent. Joining is never needed to buy a watch.
Availability notice
If you ask to hear when a sold-out finish is back, we keep your email address and what you asked to hear about. We use it for one email only, then delete it. Our reason: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us.
Orders
Checkout takes place on a secure page provided by Stripe. When you order, we receive your name, email, phone number (if given), delivery and billing addresses, what you bought and how much you paid. We do not receive your full card details. Our reason: to fulfil your order (contract) and to keep the records the law requires.
Emails
If you email us, we receive your address and your message, so we can reply. Our reason: to answer you (legitimate interests, or contract if it is about an order).
Your cart
Kept on your own device until you check out (see our Cookie Policy). It contains no personal information.
Browsing
Like any website, our server receives your IP address and basic browser details to deliver pages and keep the site secure (legitimate interests).

We do not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking, we have no customer accounts, and we do not sell your personal information. Customer messages quoted on our About page are shown without names or profile pictures; email us to have one removed.

Who we share it with

Only with the services that help us run the shop, and only as much as they need:

  • Stripe, for our checkout, payments and orders. Stripe also uses some information for its own purposes, such as preventing fraud, under its own privacy policy.
  • Our website host, which also stores the waitlist.
  • Resend, which sends our emails (order confirmations and, if you join it, the client list) and keeps the client list.
  • Our email provider, for messages to and from us.
  • Our delivery partners, which receive your name, address and contact details.

Some of these services may process information outside the UK. We may also share information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Client list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Availability notice: until we have sent the one email you asked for, then deleted; sooner if you ask.
  • Orders and emails: only as long as we need them for your order and to meet our legal obligations, such as tax records.
  • Your cart and cookie choice: on your device, as set out in our Cookie Policy.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Some rights are limited; for example, we must keep order records for tax purposes. Email sales@thenewwave.watch and we will reply within one month. For information Stripe holds for its own purposes, see Stripe’s privacy policy.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or the data protection authority where you live.

Security and changes

This website is served over an encrypted connection and never receives your card details. We may update this policy when our services change; the date at the top shows the latest version.
